Deer Suck

Post by demozg1000 »

All I can say is Deer suck. My beautiful 76 gt750 which I have been spending about 5 years restoring and enjoying got totaled last week. I am recuperating from 5 broken ribs and a broken shoulder. This totally sucks. I guess I should be happy I am ok but I am going to really miss it. The frame is bent in the front so that's pretty much it. My beautiful gauges that smoken allen did for me are ruined. its a total loss except for the motor. I just put 2 tires on it an they had under 50 miles on them. If anybody knows about a 76 gt750 on the east coast that they want to sell please let me know. Thanks everybody and I guess the journey will have to start again. I am at least lucky that I am able to do another.

Glad you are going to be OK. Yes that must really suck. A few years ago someone broke in to my garage attempting to steal all my stuff… damaged the gas tanks on my RD400 and GT250 and more before they gave up. The tanks were perfect now one has a large dent on top and the other on the side where it was dropped. They were caught but, never got any retribution. Nothing like what happen to you but I can empathize.

can someone say GT750 cafe racer kit!

Bad news, but you live to ride again at least.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

OUCH! I had 2 broken ribs a few years back when I tripped and fell on a rock pile. They only hurt when you breathe. A real shame about the bike. It sure was pretty. Deer are almost as sudden as squirrels. Get well. Wait it out and you'll be OK. Member and moderator diamondj in Jersey might know of something.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

thanks for the kind words guys. It was such a great bike. I really hope i can find another like it. I really think it saved my life because of the beating it took. My wife said its like the Subaru commercial where they say "they Lived"

That is the important thing...you lived. Glad to hear that you weren't hurt too (relative term) badly. I've hit 13 deer over the years...only one with a bike. I've got a 74 that I want to part with, and since you really only need it for parts, I'll let it go cheap. I'm in north east PA. Contact me via pm.
