Cheers Coyote, It is Photobucket and you're right about my wallet. I certainly found out the hard way that it's not cheap getting these bikes back on the road. So why on earth am I now looking for another one?
Hi all, Just as a matter of interest does anyone know what my 1977 GT380 is worth. I'm not thinking of selling as I'm having too much fun riding it but I know how much lighter my wallet is getting it to this stage.
I can't find any valuation sites that cover this type of bike.
Glyn,
Its a difficult question, and the market punishes non stock machines. You never get back what you paid, if you restored it yourself (best buys financially are other people's restorations....but they're not for me, I need a sense of real ownership that comes from getting grubby fixing it!).
If I was looking for an Agreed Value for UK insurance purposes, I'd agitate for £3.5 - 4K. My own very stock one previous owner GT380B is on an AV of £3.5K, and that might be a bit light now (was agreed years ago).
My 2c anyway. Interested in others takes.
Cheers,
Mike
She looks great, Glyn, so much so that I've got a big twinge of regret from selling my own 380 a couple of weeks back! Still, new bike coming this week so that's softening the blow
What it's worth is really hard to judge. What I have seen is that Suzi triple prices have increased quite a bit over the past couple of years. First the 750s went up dramatically in value, and now the aircooled triples are following. It may be something to do with the silly prices being asked for RD400s and the larger Kawa triples.
I think Mike's right - around £3,500 for the bike as it stands, probably another £500 more if it satisfied the concourse rivet counters by having a factory paint job and decals.
1976 GT380 - wounded by me, and sold on
2006 SV650S - killed by a patch of diesel and a kerb in Feb 2019
2017 SV650 AL7 - naked and unashamed
Cheers for all the pricing info, It seems I may have undervalued the price as your estimates are a lot higher that mine. I was expecting about £2000.
Still not selling though !
Many Regards,
Glyn.
Those might be the first set of aftermarket turn signals I've seen that look right on these bikes. I'd really like a set of those, perhaps in a plastic chrome.

To give you an idea, I sold my 380 as a non-running project last month for £1250, together with various spares accumulated over the years.
I'd holed the left piston, and though I'd owned it for 17 years, I just couldn't be bothered spending the time or money to repair the engine .... also the frame was really starting to need powder coating again ... and the tank could do with a respray ... etc etc. You know the story.
The bloke who bought it has a stable of bikes, so hopefully it'll be back on the road soon.

I wouldn't like you to be upset, so howzabout £2001.00?
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Hi Coyote,
No the front mudguard is an after market job I'm using until I can find a decent original one. I can find brand new ones at £230, but I'd rather wait to see if I can find a usable used one.
