Another Clamp Question

Post by Coyote »

I have #46. It attaches with bolt and washer #43 & 44. Suzuki calls it a cable clamp right hand. What cable? Seems awfully far forward for a cable.

If I'm not mistaken. It is held by the right side fork pinch bolt (43) on the triple tree. Holding the brake line from the master cylinder.

I think that's right. The connector is right at the lower triple and should be "clamped" to stop it from chafing against the fork and from flapping about as the wheel goes up and down.

Yep. As you can see by the shape of it. Once it's fastened by the pinch bolt, it curls back toward the tank under the bottom of the triple tree. It holds the single feed from the mc. From that point, that line runs to the 2 port manifold for the 550 that is screwed under the center of the tree. Same deal on the 750, but of course it has 3 ports on it's manifold for two calipers. Instead of one.

Alpha Sports lists it as" 34991-18100 CLAMP, CABLE LH " It bolts up to the lower left pinch bolt on the triple tree and the speedo cable runs through it. At least that's how it is on my bike!!

You're right Cliff. I reviewed some photos and that clamp WAS on the left. I could have sworn it was on the right. It's on the left and the speedo cable does run through it. You can clearly see the speedo cable is on the left in the photo above.
