1967 Suzuki TC250 ignitiion coil direction

Post by wavehog33 »

Restoring/rebuilding a 1967 Suzuki TC250 and running into a problem?? What direction do the coil wires face? Toward the front then around to the plugs (like mine in the pics) or out the back then running forward to the plugs? And do the wires then cross so the left mounted coil is the right plug and the right mounted coil is the left plug?? Thanks!!!!!! Hope the pics help.

Suzuki used both direction on the twins -- some face the front & others face the rear.
The HT leads are crossed when you mount the coils in one direction & not crossed in the other.

SuzukiCycles.org pics of the TC250 show the coils mounted with HT leads facing the rear.

Bob, thanks for the reply. I find pics of both also, mine were mounted with leads facing forward when I brought it home but no saying that it wasn't switched by someone at sometime. Looks like the black wire off generator is the right side ignition and the white generator wire is the left. Then the way my coils are mounted, the white wire coil (left ignition) in on right side of the mount. so I will need to cross my plug leads as I am fairly sure they were when I brought her home. Thanks again.
