GT750 Clutch Shaft
Well five weeks into this and only things left before splitting the case is removing the clutch and kick start mechanism. Of course pulling the cylinder was 3 weeks by it self. Question about the shift shaft (shaft that goes directly through the clutch) .... Is it suppose to be wobbly? I can move it a quarter inch in and out and up and down. //Pat

The clutch rod is supported by the right hand cover. Inside the round cover you removed is the clutch release arm where the cable is attached and the lock nuts that hold the arm to the clutch release shaft. With the rh cover removed the shaft is only supported by a ball bearing in the clutch pressure plate. The shaft is a slip fit in the bearing and will be free to move around a bit. To remove the clutch, equally loosen the fasteners on the pressure plate and remove it. Remove all the clutch fiber and steel plates keeping track of there location. You will see the clutch inner hub nut and locking tab folded over the nut. Bend the lock tab off the nut. There is a inner clutch hub locking tool to hold the inner hub in place in order to remove the nut. If you don't have one, just use a good impact on the nut to break it loose for removal. With the hub nut removed, remove the inner hub. You will see a large spacer behind it that must be removed next. It has 6mm X 1mm pitch threads in it so you can screw in a couple bolts to pull it out. Make note of the large spacers. With the spacer removed you can remove the outer clutch hub. Again make note of the large spacers. The kicker shaft won't come out till you split the cases.
