Unknown Parts

Post by Coyote »

Does anyone know what these are and where they go? When rebuilding my last GT550, 2 of these suddenly appeared on the bench while working on the motor. I had no idea where they came from and wee omitted on the rebuild. This time the motor is still in the frame and 2 more have appeared. One the other day and today while mopping up all that oil. They remind me of a candy I used to eat as a kid called licorice nibs. They almost look like some sort off stop / bumper, but there is no means of retention. They are rubber and cone shaped as you can see. The bottom side is not totally flat. It is slightly concave. :wth:

No. They come from the underside of the motor. That's what I thought they were. Silencing wedgies, but I didn't find a place for them last time. The motor is coming out of this one as well. Maybe I'll find where they go. If not, I can confirm that the motor runs just fine without them 8)

They hold up the SRIS hoses. They get wedged in between the fins on the underside.

Yeah. I noticed last night they had flat marks from being pressed between something. I won't be needing them as I am eliminating the SRIS. AND they are missing from RedZone :)

That was only on models with high lift headlamp bubs and long duration valve stems. They were only available on special order to certifiable race teams.
