I know I'm asking a lot of questions lately, but I'd like some opinions on this. I'll be taking the cylinders and head to be blasted to remove the black paint and freshen things up. Concerning the head, I'd like to have the carbon blasted off the inside. A) would I need to polish the domes back shiny? B) Would the as blasted surface be an acceptable head gasket finish?
Seems to me like it would actually be better than as machined. His blast is satin smooth. Here is a cover he did off the Buffalo I had as an example of the finish.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
The blasted surface would be fine for the gasket (IMHO) and I'd do a little bit of polishing on the cylinder head domes. But that's free advice and worth every penny !

If at first you don't succeed, just get a bigger hammer !
