T500 banjo washer options

I know reusing the aluminum washers on my oil pump is not a great option. I looked for some copper replacement washers at a few stores, but could only find neoprene and nylon washers that fit the banjo bolts of my T500. The nylon looked a little stiff to seal properly and the neoprene seemed like it would excessively compress.

Which one of these would be my best option?

Stat-o-seal washers are a popular replacement for the oil line banjo bolts.

You need the M6 size. Are $15.5 for 10 @ McMaster:

I saw that you guys like the stat-o-seals. I was just hoping to find somthing local like the aluminum washers I've used for years. I guess I'll try these seals out.

I installed the Stat-o-seals, and while they look impressive, they leak almost as much as the reused aluminum washers. No threads are stripped or anything.

Any ideas? I doubt the banjo mating surfaces have changed.

Why not try plastic ? Every known hardware store sells plastic washers. For the very low cost of them, it doesn't hurt to try them. I doubt they will leak, but if they do no huge loss as they are cheap. Just make sure they are the same thickness.

Make sure you've actually removed all of the old washers. Sometimes they stick to the crankcase or oil line.
I have seen lines with too many washers.

The stat-o-seal washers are a little spongy.
Being an amateur mechanic, I'm not too sure how much to tighten them.
So I use a torque wrench & torque them to around 25 -- 30 lb-in (2.1 -- 2.5 lb-ft).
Haven't had any leaks.

Might not be able to use a torque wrench on all of the banjo bolts. But using one on some shows how much they need tightened.

I prefer the OEM plastic ones.

I even use them on my Kawasaki triples with no leaks.
They have just the correct amount of squish tension.
