Oil leak question
Ok, I took the gt750 for a ride then came back to adjust timing and I noticed oil leaking out of the points cover? I recently put a newtronics kit in and I replaced the seal behind the points plate, now I have a leak and I can't tell if its from the seal I replaced or if its coming from that little drain area at the bottom of the case? What is that? Is that incase the outer seal starts leaking? Or did this have to do With the water pump? I can't remember , I read about it a while back but don't remember. I am going to take the points plate off and look at the seal, I got the seals from rusty riders and they are s.f.k. Made in Taiwan , maybe they are bad seals? What if its not the seal and its coming from that drain area at the bottom of the side case? I had replaced the water pump a while back and never had a problem till now....

Re: Oil leak question
Like you mentioned. I'd suspect the aftermarket seal or incorrectly installed. Anytime you have a leak of anything, anywhere. You have to thoroughly clean that area, comeback very shortly and inspect that area to determine a leak. I'd say it's very probable, being you just changed it and never had any issues there prior. You may have had dirt also, in the recess of the seal before installing it.
