GT550 Wheel

Post by sportston »

Does anyone know if the GT550 rear Wheels on the A and B models were the same as the earlier ones?
Also just to confirm the gt380m wheel is the same part right?

 On another forum recently, apparently the rear rims are the same on all GT550's & GT380's..GT750 uses the same rims, the difference there is the brake drum width ! I had a cracked rim (at the valve) awhile ago, very unusual..genuine rims come from Thailand these days,& unfortunately have the makers name stamped on the outer edge of the rim on one side.
Apart from this, chrome & quality appear to be good. 8)

It is the drum in particular I need to know about. I've got a gt380m wheel that some guy wants and he needs to know if the drum would a fit a gt550a

Hope you don't mind me asking but; Can you tell me your source? I'd hate to give this guy the go-ahead only to find that they changed the hub slightly for the A model or something.

The rims and tyres are smaller on the 380. Same rims/tyres on 550 and 750.
Hubs and brake shoes change several times on the 550 and are different on the 750.
Info from Suzuki parts catalogue K,L,M,A,B models.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
