New Project Arrives

Post by Digger »

Well, I've been conspicuous by my absence, so it's time for a catch-up, chaps.

After more than forty years in the shipping business I grabbed an opportunity for early retirement, as my health was seriously affected by the stresses of day-to-day business. I moved away from the city & port that has been my reluctant home for more than fifty years to find an idyllic house in a peaceful little village in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Loads of work to do here, and I'm enjoying getting to grips with the house & garden, walking in the countryside & getting to know the local trade folks.

The T500M is perfect for daily pottering around the Dales, and the Multistrada is still put to good use for long-distance high-speed two-up trips.

Been nibbling at Ebay for a little while, and just picked up a rather ratty GT380 with a Dunstall Cafe kit, and looking for inspiration. l did a proper back-to-standard job on the 500, but want to do either a modern cafe or 60s-style race replica on the 380. I don't really feel the lines of the Dunstall kits ever looked right on the little bikes, so I'll be retiring that. If anyone is looking for a kit, I might be interested in talking 8)

Congrats on the retirement, Digger. I shall be joining you next Spring :D .

I should think the Dunstall kit will be of interest to someone.

Cheers Geoff

Looks interesting! Not seen one of those before. A rare piece of kit I expect. I too am making a cafe racer GT380, but will probably go unfaired.

Well done for making a good call with your health. Amazing how we can get locked into a life that isn't that healthy for us over such a long time - great to see you did something before it was too late. Sounds an ideal set up, nice laid back place and the chance to ride the bikes  Good luck with the new project, keep us posted.
