I'd like to see a close up photo of that air cleaner set up. I have never seen anything like it before. She sounds great and looks good too!!
Did you get your electrical gremlins sorted out??

Re: Update on my GT550
And it was free!! Well I think I have so far put about 200 dollars max into the whole bike at this point. 50 for the lower right exhaust pipe, 22 for the pair of pod air cleaners, 30 or so in misc chemicals, 17 for the vinyl to cover the seat (excuse the crappy covering job, I just wanted it to look better than the tore up crap that it looked like before), 10 for a modern blade fuse thingy, 30 for the mounting and new tube, and some other misc money for odds and ends.Coyote wrote:I'd like to see a close up photo of that air cleaner set up. The electrical gremlins are all sorted out. I have working running lights, blinkers, horn, headlight, etc.
The air cleaner setup is just the factory air box with a pair of pods mounted to the center section. When I got the motocycle, it did not come with the air cleaner side covers or the air cleaners themselves. Just came with the plastic air box. I could have put 3 pods in place but 2 is cheaper. Plus I wanted to sort of keep the factory air path to quiet it down a bit. And if I put 3 pods in place, I would have run into how to mount the 3rd pod over the oil pump area which protrudes too high for a flush mounting of the pod. I took off the back rubber air inlet section and then I was able to tighten down the pods onto the factory airbox. I used 2 2inch pods.
Make sense?

Re: Update on my GT550
Sweet deal. Will still be a great deal after you pay for the missing parts.
