Thanks geck0. I actually am not having any problems at all. It is all the other guys who keep emailing me with the problems. Lol.

Sometimes just logging in and chatting a little is all it takes to get my frozen old brain juices flowing again.

Fang needs to post up the cool little R5/RD350 he put together as the T350's replacement.

Speaking of pistons, I'm pretty sure we talked about this before and found the pin to crown height on the 550 piston is greater than on the T350 piston. The TS185 and PE175 have the same pin to crown height issue as the 550....

Yes the pin to crown height on the 550 piston is different. Somebody sent me a picture showing the two side by side. The only two sizes over standard for the T350 were a .5mm and 1mm. The 1mm are very hard to find. I think I saw one 1mm piston on E-bay about a year ago and haven't seen another. Wisco made some over size pistons but they are very rare now. The problem getting pistons is why I decided not to race this bike.

Thanks gentlemen for the refresher. I am thinking then that instead of 550 pistons, The last set were Weisco -- AND that they were 3rd oversize.

Whatever they were, I had to clearance the engine top case to make them fit.

EDIT: too bad the forum got "updated" I am fairly certain I photo documented the process in great detail :(

The pistons you used were definitely Wisecos and you had to clearance the cases so the skirts would not hit them, I do remember that distinctly.

The trouble with Wiseco is they want you to order 1,000 pistons (or some insane quantity) at one time for anything they do not stock. I can't see there being a need for 1,000 T350 pistons even if every T350 owner bought a couple of sets all at the same time.

Now Venolia used to make smaller lots of pistons and I think they still do:

Next time someone asks you about pistons, you should refer them to Venolia and here and maybe we could put together a group buy......

It is a shame we lost your T350 build posts. You did a great job of documenting the build including all the custom tweaks, the two paint jobs (first green then orange), the seat from an old leather jacket, etc...

At least you still have your sales ad posted. That does give a lot of the details and some nice pictures:

Zook-e wrote:On the piston note. I might be a good idea to contact that guy in Japan if he can make them for the T350. He is doing them for the Kawasaki S3/KH400 with good results, I hear.
The kawa pistons are very special, some in France have wrong piston and a freind of me have good one... so be attention.
Don't know 550Gt piston but 185 GT is not good and 175 is good, just put a 6 mm spacer under the cylinder, I will try to find a solution to close the 2 small holes but , as on a 250KR1, it is good also with those holes (in front of the exaust).
... it is a post about 350 T parts... in France, Suzuki decide to sell many of olds parts (by exemple 550 pistons) 6 times more expensive.... is it the same in USA ?
