GT550 carb jetting

Post by h2okettle »

I have a friend in Alabama that wants to put pods on his GT550, but still run stock exhaust. What jets does he need to go to so he is not running lean. Also will the GT750 wheels bolt right up to a GT550 or are the bearings a different size in the rims.
Thanks for the help...

I'm no authority but I think the addition of pods with no other mods would just require an air screw adjustment. Worst case would be raise the needles a notch.
As far as the wheels go, I know for a fact that the front wheel is a direct swap. The bearing sizes on the rear hub are the same part number so that should work. The axle part numbers are different but I think that's because the 750 axle is longer. 550 axle is 64711-31000. 750 axle is 64711-34000.
What years are we talking about?
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Thanks Coyote... The Wheels are a spare set for my 74 GT750, and I was going to put them on my 73 GT550.
