I was passing by a garage sale on my GT750, stopped by to see what kind of tools they had for sale, the owner said that his son use to have a buffalo back in the 80's and that he had some pipes in the garage that I might be interested (long story short) so I bought them ($200)I think there jemco can anyone tell me what they are and what size jets I should start with, there in really good shape and I want to put then on my 72 GT750 also can I keep the center stand on. I'm happy I fell onto these when your looking for them you never find them but when your not, what a great feeling.
According to the Crook of the Center pipe and the way the Baffles look those are Bassani's.Had a set of those that wee in bad shape.I think i took them to JeffG or Rngdng??????
Hang me from the Tree of Shame.Damn! I forgot the Rope.
Nope. Not Jemcos. Jemcos are 1 piece pipes and do require center stand removal. I have never seen anything like those. Might be Hank's Garage.
Start with 2 over mains and 1 over pilots. All 3 carbs should be jetted alike now that you are losing the exhaust cross over.
The year model that those were on will make a difference as well. 72/3 pipes will not fit 74/7 and vice versa as the exhaust hanger position changed on the frame. Fit them up and see. You might have to weld on new hanger tabs and cut off the old.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
One of Bassanis trade mark designs was the big snap ring and a long stinger at the rear plus a slender main cone. They look very much like them so its quite possible they are.
Once you have them jetted you will like the sound, but use enough packing as intended since the midrange note is very raspy without any or not enough.
This thread has a good list of examples of various GT750 chamber makes and models - just click here. The topic comes up often enough that perhaps we should make it a sticky ?

If at first you don't succeed, just get a bigger hammer !
Thanks for the info guy, most of the chambers I see out here are denco or stingers so when I saw these (big smile) I didn't know what they were accept that they fit on GT, I found the thread on chambers it helps out but it doesn't show alot of detail, the bassani (pictured) are on the bike and you can not see if they are two piece or the snap ring so I wasn't sure, if somebody wants to start a sticky I can take more pictures while there off to add to the collection. Thanks for help.
