Highest priced jap bike ever?

Post by Knut »

Saw this posted over at the Kawasaki triples board. However its not a Kawi or Suzuki.

Still some days left, wonder what the end price will be. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB-1969-h ... otorcycles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the final price will be the same as that one.
Anyone who pays that needs certifying a lunatic.

Looks like at least three really want it and that last bid just may be the one. No telling what the highest non-posted bid was made but if the price rises we just may know.
That is "Nuts" for any Honda :shock:

Yeah that price is rather insane, but sandcast enthusiasts are rather nutty about their early CBs. I have a low number 1970 K0 that one day I'll finish putting back together, it's not a sandy, but only about 20,000 motors made before it. Sure wish I wouldn't have ruined the crankshaft..

Well if only I would've navigated the campground better I might have avoided the 500lb cement bench that was at odds with my alternator cover.. :shock:

Flywheels are massive on the CBs, impact bent my crank snout..

Will finish the crank swap once I'm done with the 550 :lol:

Seemed like an awfully long list of "oh yeah, I forgot to mention..." and "oh by the way, we replaced..."
Slow and steady may win the race, but without loud and fast it's just a waste

A lot of money I agree, but it's not the highest priced Jap bike. I've seen Honda NR750s go for more than that over here.

And it'll probably never go Honda road again (sorry.)

Just ridiculous price, must have money to burn.
