8) These brakes have been really sort after for years by the Historic/Vintage racing fraternity,
the cheapest way to get one is probably to buy a complete bike!!!

These are getting more and more expensive, but as long as those, cafe racers boy's need them, will keep on pushing prices higher and higher .. And let's not forget the, gt guy's that want there.. Gt550J and 750j original in every way.. I was watching the 4ls, and he did all the right things, when He came to selling it.. Good information, and good photo's and lots of them.. Means... he got what he was hoping to get.. As I'm into gt750j ( 1972 ) I have 2 j frames for my next restorations, and will be on the look out, for some myself too one day, and who know's prices could reach $1,500 to $2,000. Who knows??? I think the 4ls brake is a better looking, front wheel than a disc/rotor .... and who cares they don't stop very good, I don't go fast enough to need to use them. Lots to polish on them, on a Sunday morning, before a blast to the local cafe.. The last photo is of my friends gt750 j and boy, does he love to polish. See for yourself :ssh: :ssh:

On the 550, the 4LS was a much better brake - I had one on my original J in 1972, put a disc kit on and it was so dire in the rain, swapped it back for a 4LS again. Fitted Ferodo green racing linings and it would outstop ANY disc set up - that's why the classic racing guys want them.
They were always marginal on the GT750 though, due to the extra weight of the beast.

Have a 4LS front wheel + GT550J front end in my parts inventory for some future cafe project. :D
The combo of 4LS brake + 3-into-1 chambers provides maximum coolness.

My A will have 3 discs and a 3-1 spanny. They are already in the garage!

Not sure, it's very rusty and no badges to be seen at the current time. It might get ceramic coated when I get started with that rebuild - after I finish the K that I'm currently on with.
