Wow! that's pricey. I wonder if the fluid inside it is still intact. Would be a shame to buy the thing and find it's all dried up.

Good points Art, I recently had to do a restoration to an NOS gauge of similar age. The problems are usually a cloudy glass due to fungal formations on the inside, somewhat like the thing that grows on optical lenses if stored in high humidity. Grease thats mostly calcified and dried out oil, and if the gauge has been improperly stored, the armature fluid leaking out inside.
If Suzuki were to manufacture these gauges now the cost would be in the $400.00 dollar range for a speedometer or tachometer so its not that pricey. It just gives people a reality check as to what a great deal they are getting having their old gauges restored at a small fraction of the cost of one new gauge.
I would not use it unless it has been restored, as doing so can actually cause some damage to the internal bushes and pivots from being run dry.
