Very rare indeed!

Well, the front fender may be from a 1977, just not a GT550! Signal lights, headlight ears, rear tail light, not 1977.

Cliff I suspect its one of those things we talked about, I have never seen a Canadian 77 GT with kmh speedo but some may have been sent in to the country at the very end of the 77 ordering.
The bike looks quite clean but what did he do to that gauge case, its covered in some thick ugly paint, almost like gel coat. Had that been restored properly it would have helped the bikes overall look.
As you noted, I've seen those fenders with the very curved ends and a raised lip running around the entire border before, and they were never used on any of the GTs.

Saw the gauge case as well! Did you see the missing carb rubbers on the slides? What or whose parts did he use to rebuild the carbs?

Minus, the gauges that look like absolute crap. She's a beauty. I never understood why many people cover their tags taking pictures of vehicles. It's not like there is database, etc. that you can look up someone's identification through the tag number. Other than the police. A picture hanging around on the net of the tag really doesn't invite any foul play either. When all you have to do is drive that vehicle down the road for everyone to see the plate. I never understood that the slightest.

Good catch on the missing carb bellows, I cant see it running well without those, and you better not let it get wet either in that area.
Why does everyone think what they have is rare like this owner believes, for example 77 GT750s hardly show up for sale on places such as Craigslist and Kijiji, so does that make them rare?,,,nope.
