Is there anyone who knows how is the fuel enrichment plunger supposed to be set when is in the pulled up position (when starting the engine up)?

This circuit is meant to set the idle speed as well, but what I am interested in, is the position when kicking the pig up;

You can see what I mean from the pic.

thanks

Normally when you pull the knob up the hole should be completely exposed and it should seat right down onto the base cast into the carb. That looks like its not fully closed, Is the idle needle stopping it from seating?

The choke knob on this application -CR500-, doubles as a fuel enrichener in a way that once the vehicle is up and warm, one can set the idling speed by turning it either way;

What I am experiencing is: once the pig has started, it bogs down as if the mixture is either too rich or else;

very smokey (blueish one) and after what seems to me as a bowl load of fuel is burned it just dies;

plug seems dry, no foul no oil;

As I am thinking of replacing the float, just prior to go pwk 39.5 is there some concern on the board which can provide me whit one?

thx

I'm familiar with that type of carb as I also have a CR500, did you check the seal on the base of the plunger to see if its soft and creating a seal when the plunger is down.

I will check the seal:

How do you (if ever) establish the float height? With body horizontal or vertical (upside-down)
tnx
