Wow .. what a pain in the butt rebuilding very stuck together 4 piston calipers ... i was thinking the caliper pistons were going to be a rusty the fight they all put up getting them out . But to my surprise they all cleaned up perfect .. it was goop buildup behind the seals forcing the seal against the piston locking the parts together  man .. am i glad thats done :D

It cleaned up pretty good Dave, after all these years I still dont like the look of the slabs between the frame and tail section. I wonder if they could be reshaped a bit at the lower edge section to look less 'heavy".Thats of course if it was an issue for the owner.

I dont care much for all that side plastic either Allan , even Suzuki tried to make it look less with the paint jobs they put on these yr bikes . I am going to put some masking tape on them to see what it would look like cut down some and it wouldnt hurt anything as the 2 lower screw holes are a bit buggered up so cutting them off wouldnt hurt the panel . That is looking sharp Dave. How much faster is it than a GT750? Just kidding.

There's a reason they are called "Slabbies". That was the look back then. Manufacturers tried to fill the space above the wheel because we were used to seeing frames and twin shocks and side covers etc. Now the fashion is wide and open.

Looking good Dave. That picture of the "G" model above, is my very favourite. I had 2 that colour in the early nineties, preceeded by a new red and black "H" in 87, and a couple of painted ones in the mid 90s.
I loved the fact that you sit in them, not on them, and the motor was user friendly.

Thanx .. still a couple of parts needed before i can run it around the block .. a battery and a master link for the chain . The chain seems ok but the master link that came with it didnt have the O rings or the clip , i should have picked one up ahead of time but didnt .

Nice one Dave.

That bike needs black calipers - not those gold ones. And by a coincidence I happen to have a set and they need to be in your hands not mine. PM me your address and I'll get them in the mail.

I wish I could stick to just one project and see it through as fast.
The only thing I've done on my 86 GSXR this year is finally get a legal title for it. And a set of H-spoke Dymags on a shelf, waiting for another chance to see the sun...
Hope you find a day of some warmth yet to get some miles in, winter has moved in way too early around here... :(

As far as body work, you could always put a 86 GSXR Limited tail on it.....they look good no matter what color.
