Nicely done. Brings back memories of the GS1000S I rebuilt back in 1996.
Must admit it's still one of my favorite bikes that I have had. They got the seat and ergonomics just right for a 6'2" rider.
I also went with the later alloy swingarm and a decent set of shocks.
Maybe I will go looking for another one for my old age.
Got to be more comfortable than my ex race T500 that is my current road bike.

Thanks
I had one just like this (black/white stripe) back in 82-84. It was my first big bore bike. I have never kept anything under 1000cc in the garage as a keeper since.....4 stroke that is
I was bored with the Hayabusa and wanted to go back and relive my youth to some degree....

First ride of the year on the GS....first day in over 6 months that the temp made it to 80 degrees....
6 months of winter has been enough.....time to get into the sunshine.
Fired up first push of the button near instantly

Thats a lovely looking bike! Nice colour too. I like the subtle but not outrageous mods.

I had a very hard time keeping it subtle, but I wanted a bike with wire wheels and a (almost factory) look...

I'd say you succeeded well! I'm no rivet counter, but it does sometimes seem a shame to lose the period look. Yours has kept that period look whilst being sensibly updated for modern use.

Bike is now for sale on craigslist.

I have another GS1000 that needs attention, and I don't need two.....
Plus I might be buying another bike this weekend, so I really need to get rid of one...

Decided to keep the bike after I had it on Craigslist for two weeks.....
......and took it to see if I finally had my carbs dialed in as close as possible.
They were....

Sold the GS1000 last week....
Kind of sad, but I only rode it one time this year.
It was working perfect, so I figured now is the time to sell, before it collected too much dust or started to have carb issues or other problems from just setting around.
Time to clean up the garage of some of my bikes I will never get to, or don't use enough....while the market is still good.
