Mine too...had my first one back in 82...it was my first open class hell raiser.

This is what it looked like after I pulled the Vetter off, and had started collecting parts for it...

Nothing an afternoon wrench session couldn't fix!! 18" at both ends? What width? Nice work.

Round headlight looks better than square one. I had a 1982 GS1100E bought new with the matching Bell helmet. You always do such nice work!

Thanks guys. Speaking of round headlight....this one still needs a new ring, as the one I have is pretty rough.

Beautiful job. Did you vapor blast the engine castings or paint them?

And what are the disk rotors? They look good.

Thanks guys...
The rear wheel originally had been used on a dragbike, so the sprocket was unusable for the street....at least for the way I planned on riding :)
I soda blasted the engine and re sprayed the upper half silver, and left the bottom casting bare like original. Not many vapor blasters around, compared to the UK....I checked into buying one, but I just don't do enough to make it worthwhile for the cost of equipment. And too lazy to do it on the side to make money to pay it off :(

The rotors are off a GS1150E

That is a seriously impressive transformation! Did the GS1000s have oil coolers from factory?
