paint code and lenses

Post by webster »

Hi All

I'm a nubie here and my story is this;

I purchased a 1972 GT750 ( frame # 21154, engine # 21117 ) at a public auction in
May 2008 and have been restoring ever since.

It was all original ( as best I can tell ) and has 17264 mile on the clock.

I am just now having the painting done, Lavender -- can anyone tell me the correct
modern color code that matches the orginial ???

Also I am looking for the rear turn signal lenses (Red ones ) can someone tell me
where to fine a set ???

I hope to have the restoration completed by next summer.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Your servant

The red lenses are discontinued due to highway traffic regulations and switched to amber, but you may find some on eBay. Suzuki can not supply them. For the paint, the only company I'm aware of that has a good reputation and can ship the correct paint mix is RS Bike Paint in the UK ( http://www.rsbikepaint.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) - there may be others in the US who can do a match for you (check the VJMC club magazine for some suggestions), but it is a candy so you need the correct base coat as well as the colour coat so getting a good match can be tricky.

And for what it is worth, I've listed the Suzuki GT750 colour codes and samples on this link: http://www.oldjapanesebikes.com/fieldgu ... lours.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Good luck ! 8)
