It is that time of the year again! Only 6 weeks away to one of the best "tiddler" races in the USA!
Any bike under 200 cc (Vintage bikes to 250CC) can enter the race! We start out South of Toledo Ohio at 6am Saturday morning (June 11th), head north and race non stop, up though Canada, All the way around Lake Erie.
Typical times range from 10 hours on the "racer" bikes, to 14 hours or more on the 100 cc (and smaller) bikes.
This is a test of real men (and women!), and a test of the bike. You get some BIG bragging rights, and some prize money if you win! The event is held to raise money for Burned children, and is hosted by Bill Murar, a Retired Fireman.

Interesting. Race website with class info: http://www.lakeerieloop.org/ride-info.html
Looks like GT185s can compete but T250/GT250s can’t because they have 2 carbs.

Re: The 650 Mile "Lake Erie Loop" Race June 10th
Any bike can run the loop, but in order to keep things "somewhat legal" or at least keep speeds during the race not "too far" above the speed limits, limits had to be placed on the bikes allowed to race. Up until last year the Vintage bike limit was 225CC's (and still is) but we agreed to allow "some" 250's but... There are some 250's out there that will top 100 mph! So we had to place limits for safety.
So ANY bike can enter to loop , but only in the touring class. You still get the bragging rights. (you and your bike, non stop, all the way around Lake Erie in one day)

The facebook page is:

Not sure why, it "shortened" the link in the first post.
