Cafe Racer Magazine Readers Ride-In Bike Show

Post by jabcb »

Cafe Racer Magazine had their annual Readers Ride-In Bike Show today.
Was at their headquarters in Sewickley, PA, which is a few miles west of Pittsburgh.

Something like 50 bikes were entered & Suzuki two strokes were well represented.

Suzuki GT750 & T500. Owned by two friendly guys from Ontario, Canada.

+1 on that being a nice GT750.
The GT750 & T500 have swingarms for other bikes that were adapted to fit.
Here is a pic of the T500 swingarm:

That swingarm on the T500 is off of a Yamaha Seca 400.

Part of what made the event a good show was the opportunity to chat with the owners about their bikes & the mods they did.

The swingarm on the GT750 was an easy fit that needed lower shock mount brackets fabricated & welded on.
The tank is from another bike & there was no room for a petcock with the stock airbox, so he used a manual Seadoo petcock mounted on the right carb.
Those sharp-looking exhausts are Jemco 3-into-3s that he had chromed.

I think you are right about the donor parts for the T500 being from a Seca 400.
Wheels & parts look like those in Seca 400 pics.
The owner mentioned where they are from but I don’t remember that detail at the moment.
The T500 has unusual pod filters & exhaust tips, but I didn’t think about asking about them.

Was a good weekend for events.
This event was on Sunday, and Mods & Rockers was in Millville on Saturday.
Excellent weather and both were reasonable rides from your place.
Definitely worth considering for next year.

Isn't that 550 known as RedZone?

Lane
If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

Funny you mentioned Mod & Rockers, soon as I posted about the swingarm yesterday I thought to myself "wonder when Mods & Rockers is?" Got on their website and saw it was Aug 22. Oops ...Kinda late.

Two more pics:

Was a sunny day & my cell phone camera couldn't handle the contrast.
The 2nd BMW isn't yellow, its orange.
The orange on the Bilt helmet is closer to being correct & the bike was painted to match the helmet.
