Our group which comprised of around 10 people used to go when the annual 2 stroke meet was on, and we did this for quite a few years. The trouble was the end of April to early May it began raining a lot, even hail at times, so we shifted our time a bit later to the week before Memorial Day, and have kept it so for the last three years.
We also found when the 2 stroke meet was on, the Gap and its surrounding roads had become over crowded and the local heat was out in force, especially the Tenn side based LEOs.
This year we are set to go again for the week before Mem Day weekend and at present have an extra space available.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Its about one week away, I am still trying to get everything in place to possibly make it for 3-4 days. Preparing the truck, trailer, and bikes as well as loose ends.

The guys that I will tag along with are staying in Robinsville at Philips. Now if everything falls into place and the forecast looks good I want to make it.
