Hiya!

Not only am I new to the forum, I'm a new motorcycle owner and, yes, I am just learning to ride, too.

I have already had the pleasure of meeting a few of the wonderful members of this forum, who have been helping me figure out a problem wit my bike in the "repair" category. I am so surprised with how welcoming and helpful everyone has been so far. Thank you.

I own a 1966 Suzuki b100p two-stroke. She's about 98% original, but professionally overhauled/restored by a mechanic who traded her for a Honda and fixed her up in his garage. I originally went to this guy's house to look at a Honda Dream, but saw the Suzuki and instantly fell in love with it. He wasn't selling it, but I asked, and begged--until he agreed to sell her. YES!

I have never ridden a motorcycle before. I have been the passenger many times, but no one would ever teach me to ride because they think I'm too clumsy. However, I'm an avid manual clutch car driver and very astute. I know, I know...cars are way different than bikes. But, none the less, I'm a great mechanical operator. I just need to learn how to operate a motorcycle clutch--which is proving to be difficult for me. This is a photo of my first injury. I was practicing in my back yard and I (sort of) almost ran into my garage and wobbled hard and dumped my bike (on top of myself). Image
It's a nice puncture wound and ripped pants. This is the dump that preceded my bike not starting, which is what the guys in the repair forum have been helping me with.

Anyways, I'm really happy to be a part of this forum and I welcome any advice and input. And, yes, I'm taking the safety training course first thing next spring...don't you worry.

Thanks All!
