I was just curious how reliable other Suzuki GT owners find there bikes to be.
My Suzuki GT riding experience began 15 years ago with a GT500A and my collection added from there.
In those years I commonly rode 150 -300 miles a week, adding thousands of miles a year to my bikes, in that time only twice did I need to be recovered by a trailer, both times being a flat rear tire. Several times I had problems with points, plugs, charging, leaking radiator hose, carb issues, but I was always able to make it home, not always up to speed, but always managed to get home.
Like I said, I was just curious how reliable others have with there 40-50 year old T & GTs

Re: Reliability
Just done 500 miles in a week on my 550J ok, Done over a thousand miles on my 550A this year ok, the 550B is running well with about 500 miles on it.
Depends how well looked after and how they are ridden really.

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Reliability
Done 3000 miles on my 550a since top end rebuild 18 months ago.would have been more except for health issues.only minor issues & usual tyres, chain n sprkts, pads etc.they do seem to like being used more than stood.

Re: Reliability
I’ve had more problems with bikes sitting in storage too much.
A friend was riding my T350 when the fuse holder broke. Easily diagnosed because nothing worked & fixed on the spot.
Had a sunken float but I was close enough to home to be able to nurse the bike home.
Last year both Honda Nighthawks had fork seals that started puking during winter storage. And a GT750 disc brakes went to cr*p during extended storage.

BAS (Bike Acquisition Syndrome) - too many bikes but have room for more

Re: Reliability
My fuse holder snapped off frame too.easy fix as you say.my digital gear lens got pushed inside the dash during a severe hailstone storm.i know where it is at least.have made a temp one with small oblong of clear acetate til the day the dash has to be stripped
