Hi everyone! Signed up recently with a new purchase. Not new to 2 strokes and know many of you from K2S, KTOG. 2SW, RZ Forum, and the Eastern 2 Stroke Deal's Gap Meet. I had major spinal surgery about a year ago and have had issues with my right leg either due to nerve damage or weakness that has persisted. Months and months of physical therapy, aquacizer, etc- leg throbs often and have had difficulty kick starting with pain afterwards. Walking 5 miles 3X week at a spirited pace to build back leg strength. Sold my only electric start bike over a year ago (only 4 stroke I had) so I knew I wanted a vintage 2 stroke electric start bike limiting it to the GT550 and/or GT750. Found a really nice 76 GT750 off CL so sold some stuff and made the purchase. It is very smooth compared to my 72 Kaw H2 750 and 84 Yam RZ350. I also ordered the factory Suzuki luggage rack from Marcel in NL as well as the Accent electronic iggy from Uwe in Germany. Neither have arrived yet though so will wait patiently. My GT750 just had an engine rebuild with Bune built crank. It is Maui Blue in color and identical to the masthead bike here. Anyway, looking forward to being a member here and enjoying my new Buffalo. My plans are to keep it stock other than the rack and ignition change.

Welcome Evans!
Very nice looking GT750! It is very much like the bike Allen now rides all over the country.
Enjoy your new ride!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! Forgot to mention that the bike was originally from the Tennessee area just above Chattanooga. I bought it from the second owner in North GA who had all the work done but decided to sell to complete a custom car. Bike has alittle over 11,000 original miles all placed between 1976-1986. It sat from 1986 until recently. I inherited all receipts too which is always a bonus! I do have much learning to do on these bikes so will spend time in the archives here.

Good to see you here, Evans. I sent a PM before I saw this post. You'll like the GT; not as exciting as an H2, but you can shift it at 2K and it won't care!!

I got my factory carrier rack from Marcel in NL and also acquired all of the parts for the factory friction steering damper. Both are installed- will try and get some updated pics on this thread soon.

Hi Evans,

Welcome along - nice bike you have bought. The electric starter does come in handy for us aging fellas. I used to think (on principle) that I should kick my bikes over to start them. However, real life has shown me that pushing a button is way smarter and easier! I'm sure the GT will be much smoother than your H2 - but then again, most things are aren't they?

Get out and ride the old girl - you'll love the big GTs

Welcome in. Just treat it as a big soft tourer and you won't go far wrong.
