Well, here we are again.
Today I took the Strom to my local haunt, and had the Salvage Inspection performed on my bike, and it passed with flying colors. The frame showed no signs of stress, but I was curious nonetheless. The first thing the mechanic did was install the lazer thingamee device, and found the bike was at least as straight as most new bikes, fresh from the crate. All the rest of the safety related parts of the bike checked out fine, so it's off to the registry office on Monday to make the old girl legal again. Unfortunately, I can't test ride it yet, as mother nature is seriously pissed off with us up here in Canada. The dammed snow doesn't know when to quit! Oh well, soon enough. Heading out on 27th of April, for our annual spring ride to the US. Trucking the bikes to Pocatello ID, and continuing south through Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and back. Should be fun. At least the adventure continues on a bike that I have a long, and interesting history with. I'm pleased. Cheers.

Just an update on this escapade of mine. Yesterday I received an email from a nice young fellow in Vancouver BC, alighting to the fact that he has a same year V Strom with a sick motor. It's even the same color. He offered it up for very reasonable money, so that I can put my trusty stead back on the road. It has every thing I need in one package without having to look all over the world and deal with fleabay to find it all. So a road trip is on for this coming week, to go out and get it. The government has deamed the bike as salvageable, so I'm determined to continue the adventure on the bike that I have some great traveling memories with. Of coarse, with a little less drama, and a large slice of enjoyment. The Strom is not everyone's cup of tea, but it sure works for me. Cheers.
