considering selling

Post by chance johns »

i have some stuff im thinking about selling/ trading.

-74 gt550 that has custom paint and is "cafe'd".
it has been dropping a cylinder and ive been going through it trying to chase down the issue.
most recently ive taken the carbs to an ultrasonic cleaner and im about to see if that helped once this snow and chill eases up a bit.
i have over 4k$ into this and dont expect that much in return =(
new tires. new points/condensors. good compression lots of new stuff. carbs rebuilt tons of new stuff in there.

- tank, side panels and front cafe fairing and cafe seat from a 72 550 i would sell as a set if someone is interested.

also another small cafe seat available, its skinny!

-72 gt750 bottom end taken apart in buckets, all wrapped up nicely in bubble wrap. it has a rebuilt crank with new bearings and seals.(crank rebuild was 300$ alone) i was gonna rebuild it but found a complete motor for sale so i went for that. MIGHT be interested in parting out.

-68 orange cobra t500 project. its missing the og seat and has a different front end with dual discs. might be missing small things here or there but all the main stuff is there. harness is off but i have it.

-87 RM175 needs bottom end rebuilt and piston/rings cylinder and head are good.

-gt750 points cover (post 72), alternator cover, starter motor, more bits this is all i can remember off the top

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOOKING for :

-a clean(ish) stock 550 in good running shape. preferably a 74 but anything will be considered.

-gt750 wiring harness. ive been doctoring mine up, and wanted to do a harness restoration this winter, but im afraid i dont have enough of the original to do a restoration.

-gt750 pipes, mine have the stains on them...I CANT seem to figure out how to get them off. other wise they are in good shape.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

550 is titled in my name. cobra has a title in someone elses name but is filled out properly and ready for transfer.

EVERYTHING is in PHILADELPHIA PA USA.

if you are seriously interested send me a pm. i can get pictures of stuff i just got figure out how to shrink them all!
thanks you all have been extremely helpful with info and i wouldnt be this far along in my projects with out this site.

What year 750 harness and pipes do you need and how much do you want for that 750 bottom end?

72 - gt750

i spent 300$ on rebuilding the crank and 200-300$ for new cases.

im not sure what to ask but i want more than a little and whats fair.

whats a rebuilt crank worth? 500$? im obviously not trying to price it out ,piece by piece but i want to consider my costs and what it is worth.

so to answer your question im not sure? throw a number at me.

i was gonna rebuild it eventually and have a spare or sell it, but i wouldnt mind having less projects on my plate

it does not have the embossed suzuki points cover, has a later one.
