I have the same problem. The only replacement I've found is vintage brakes. You have to send your old shoes in for them to reline.

Aftermarket front brake shoes for the GT380J are:
EBC S608
Vesrah VB-304

They show up on eBay from time to time. One is currently listed.

EBC in the UK still lists GT380J brake shoes. Don't know if they actually have them.

i snagged them... now noticing that one end is flat. other is round... looking at the schematic on bikebandit they both look round.

for sure the S608 is direct replacment on front drum?

Having one flat end & one round end is correct. The flat end presses against the brake cam.

According to EBC the S608 is correct. See the EBC link I provided.

Per Vesrah's brake guide, VB-304 is correct for the GT380J front brake. Also VB-304 is equivalent to S608 (enter 608 in the guide to confirm).

Don't know what Suzuki was thinking.
GT380 & T500 are about the same weight. T250/T350 are much lighter.
For the GT380J, Suzuki used the T350 front brake instead of the much larger T500 front brake.
