To see what it looks like go to this link and click on 'hot parts' then scroll down to the second ignition system to see how it looks http://www.suzukitandgtparts.nl/begin_gt.htm

Why don't you want to use it? Just curious......

Lane
If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

And would you like to let us in on the secret as to which one and what the advantages might be?

I hear only good things about Marcel's unit. It doesn't have a retard curve, but on a street motor that's probably not a big issue unless you can get the motor to rev really hard and need to take out a few degrees of timing at the top end.

I've got one of Marcel's kits - it works an absolute treat.

True, it's fixed timing, but for the street that's fine. You could retard it ever so slightly right from the get-go to enable more top-end, but there are better systems out there if you're going to be wanting to do that sort of thing.

One idiosyncrasy it does have though, is it draws quite a bit of current when on.
I've had two kill-switch melt-downs since I've had it fitted (solder literally melting from the wiring tags  ) - I've since put in a relay which switches that high current circuit before the kill switch and all is now good...

Very reliable and very stable, easy fitting and adjustment, highly recommended.

Cheers

I've been running one on my 550 and it works great. No kill switch meltdown here...
