Suzuki 2 Strokes

I have owned a few used GT380's since about 1979. I am in my 60's now and don't plan on doing much in the way of riding anymore due to hip replacement.
I was just wondering what the market was like these days. The bike is mostly stock. It has 1st over WISECO pistons, and slightly wider anodized rims with stainless spokes I put on back in the 80's when I road raced a bit. Still have the original rims.
I also have most of a spare engine, minus the lower crankcase, and a set of good GT550 carbs minus one pivot arm.

Have you had your hip replacement yet? I had one 3 yrs ago and it gave me a new lease on life and the ability to become pain free. I’m 62 and ride without issues. My belief is that the key takeaway is to stay as physically active as possible to maintain range of motion. I do brisk walking 3X a week in the heat for a total of 18 miles per week in addition to push mowing my lawn (3-4 hrs) each time weekly. I also had a spinal fusion 5 yrs ago lower lumbar.

If you must sell, that is a nice specimen and should command top dollar.

I had an unfortunate fall 2 months after first replacement and fractured the femur. 4 bands to hold it together and another replacement hip done. It causes discomfort when riding more than short trips. I will miss it quite a bit after 41 years.
While it is not perfect, it is in great shape minus a few small cosmetic issues. Just wondering what would be a fair price if I decide to sell.

I'm a bit surprised no one has any input on value. I will say that someone has offered $3500. for the bike and parts. The bike runs great, has a small tear in the seat and a few small scrapes in the paint. Chrome is pretty good overall, including exhaust.
I don't know what market value is right now, but does that seem about right?

You might find that a cruiser with a low wide seat is sufficiently comfortable.
Or a 3-wheeler Can-Am.

Buyers are often looking for a discount in the fall & especially so during the winter.
That’s a nice bike — you may get a good bit more if you wait until spring.

Prices have been climbing. Sweet originals & correct restorations can get a lot more than that.
(I used to follow prices of top tier bikes but stopped when I started thinking about adding them to my collection. So I’m not sure where the market is now.)

I agree with jabcb and depends how quickly you want to move it. $3500 seems very fair for both you and the buyer but you might get $4000 or more if you wait until Spring to list it. Listing the parts separately might add additional net profits but entails more labor intensive work. Your GT380 is nice and looks very good ready to ride, admire, and enjoy. Needs to go to a Suzuki enthusiast who will keep it stock original.

I’m sorry to hear about your fall post hip replacement surgery and understand about pain when riding as I experienced that prior to my surgery. It made it tough to enjoy the riding experience. As mentioned, some of the cruisers and muscle bikes have forward foot pegs that would take pressure off your hips. I’d probably look at all those models first if I wanted to keep riding. The other option would be a Slingshot where you could stretch your legs out. I haven’t sat in one so I don’t know how much leg room they have.

+1 on the parts. Someone will want a good set of GT550 carbs. Check out the prices on eBay.

I have a friend with a 73 GT380 with 10k miles and Higgspeed chambers on it, very nice, for $5000 with a ding in the tank, $5500 if no ding.
I have a 74 GT380 I have cleaned and repainted frame and body, but engine not running yet. I'd take $2500 now but want $3500-4000 if it runs well.
IMO, $3500 is a great deal for your bike, for the buyer.
I saw your video, and it seems loud for stock pipes. Maybe the audio is making sound louder, or you have the baffles out?

One of my friends decided he wanted it for himself and his son. He would have paid more than $3500 without the spares, but I gave him the whole package.
I'm sure I could have gotten more, but it was a no hassle deal and I get to ride it when I want.
As far as the loud exhaust, it has the stock baffle pipes, but the fiberglass wrap is off.

My friend (see previous post) sold his 380 on eb for $6400.
I sold my 380, cosmetically restored, but not running, for $2000, this week.

I noticed in the video you rode away with your kickstand out, glad you realized it after few seconds when it scraped on the ground. The bike looks good, I would have immediately bought it for that price but I am in Europe then. Dont give up riding, find yourself something comfortable.

I know I could have gotten more, but I am happy it went to someone I know.
