Hi Garry,

I had clearance issues when fitting Mikuni VM 34mm carbs. In my case the float bowl on the left carb fouled the case just where the upper left bolt goes on the sprocket cover. I resorted to relieving the case to use the Flange mountings I had. When I fitted 38mm VM's (larger carb body) relieving the case looked like it could get out of hand. Instead I used some CNC machined inlet's which had a 15 degree angle to them, I used Sleeve rubbers between the inlets and carb.

Thanks Geoff - great solution to the problem.
However, the GT750 does not have bolt-on inlet stubs - they are part of the barrel casting.

I do get too T500 focused sometimes lol It slipped my mind that your project is 3 cylinder. As I only have a minimum acquaintance of the GT750 I'll have to leave it to others for ideas. However I do know two guys who run race GT750 engines, I'll ask them what they use.

I contacted Cor Geraets and he provided this info:

"I have special inlet rubbers zo that i can fit the 38 racecarbs Whitout reworking the intake of the cylinder Also the angle of the carbs is then whitin the maximum Mikuni angle" (Cor is Dutch so I thought I'd keep his spelling )



Cor was interested in seeing your project so I'll grab one of the photos you've posted and forward it to him. He wants to see your potential issues so he might help further. Of course the first question is where did Cor source his angled inlet rubbers, I'm sure we will find out

(update: Cor had these inlet rubbers specially commissioned and sells them for 150 Euros a set. They provide an angle of approximately 15 degrees )

I have sourced a set of angled inlet rubbers from a big 4T Suzuki that will do the job just fine.
