GT750 Front Crash Bar - genuine OEM part?

Post by RING_DING »

I have a front crash bar for sale from a 1974 GT750. Not 100% certain but it may be the genuine OEM bar as shown in this extract from the parts list (under Optional). The bar is corroded and would need to be blasted and rechromed. BTW, bike was restored and is long gone!
Open to offers as I have no idea what its worth.

I had an original on my first Buffalo and it was shaped the same, but not that large. I think that one is aftermarket. When I get home, I can look at the pics of my stocker. Don't have them on this computer.

I don't know....mine was pretty large, but the tubing doesn't seem as big as yours, and it seems to be closer to the pipes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lane. Can you recall if the lower mounting brackets were welded to the crash bar or were they bolted on?

I think they were welded. It's been a few years.....

Pretty sure these are not the real OEM deal based on the pic Lane posted. Also the catalog part indicates fixed (welded) lower mounting brackets and clearly mine are not. It's going in the dumpster :(

Yeah, that one is awfully large! My original one was the same diameter tubing as the stock radiator crash bar. Your bike has an early 72-73 radiator crash bar with a 75 model radiator cover. Different!!!
