You've got to admire this engineers persistence, and the end result looks very promising. Hes created a low cost inner city commuter bicycle.

Clever !

I remember the first time I saw a wood bicycle back in the early 2000's in The Netherlands, I thought that was impressive. Now if you do a search of the internet there are many companies making wooden ones so maybe cardboard ones will catch on the same way !

Wood is not bad but you definitely need the right wood for a frame. High end bicycle frame builders have been looking into various light and super strong materials for a long time.
Take a look a Craig Calfee, he is one person whos experimented with bamboo for a while and offers something totally different. These are not your run of the mill hundred dollar frames, prices for his masterpieces easily run into the thousands.
Just to have some 'what if' fun on this, wouldn't it be great to create a mold and then have the bamboo shoots grown specifically into the shape of the frame with the fibres all genetically prearranged.
