Its not super hightech, uses tried and proven technology AND for a change its affordable. Many parts are pulled from various parts bins, for example notice the Ford F150 air vents. As for looks, its pleasant on the eyes, not over or under stated, just sort of there.

I'd rather have a genuine Morgan 3 Wheeler with a dope burning, Castrol R lubricated, supercharged V-twin JAP up front. Unfortunately I don't think you would get one $6800

The prototype has in a Suzuki/Geo Metro three cylinder 1000 cc engine but they will be making their own three cylinder engine for the production run.
I like it because its sensibly priced and the design/features make sense plus you can use it everyday in all sorts of weather. Its not some 30 thousand dollar toy like most of these 'things' end up being and usually impractical.
The build quality of the body panels and interior paneling looks to be very well put together, all the seams look to be closely aligned and well fitting
If this whole concept comes through and its as well made as they plan it to be, I would buy one.
At that price why not, this would be perfect for everyday short trip runs around suburbia.

I'm not anti 3 wheels....I covered several hundred thousand miles in Reliant Robins before passing my bike test. But if I were going for a 3 wheeler now, it would be a Grinnal.

I don't consider this a bike or trike, I consider it a reasonably good looking, cheap and comfortable way of doing runaround trips with really good mpg. I want A/C and I want to be able to get caught in the rain and not get wet.
Did I mention I want it to be reasonably priced, thats why a Morgan, T-rex, Can-Am spider and all the other 30 grand "toys" are not what the average person wants, far less be able to afford either.
This Elio may very well be the 21st centuries version of the Model T Ford. A reasonably priced basic two seater for the people who see the virtues of getting one to use everyday.

The kicker is it's price. I'm not attracted to 3 wheelers the slightest. But, at that price, mpg. Depending on it's availability, power, performance in snow/rain. I may seriously get one of these. But, it would have to be pretty much an every day, all circumstances performer as I would need to use it as so. That is still an expensive toy to most people. But, I'm positive that they'll have a hard time producing enough of them, if it's not at that price. Sounds to good to be true in today's economics.
