while we were in turkey on hols last week,we came across quite a few of these old bikes.
battered but still running!couldn't believe that they were still running.
these were the very old ones from the 60's with pressed steel bodies.
no seat but using household cushions or old blanket mats .
and I thought they were quite cute.
no longer seen here, do you guys ever seen one on the road?
like this one

while checking them out on google I came across this.

still making and selling two strokes! and its a 350.
now why can't Suzuki resurrect the old 350?

Very nice, thanks for sharing. $6200 for a 2 stroke retro classic is quite a bit of coin though

Suzuki (or anyone else) won't resurrect old style 2 strokes due to emission laws.

I own around 20 350cc Jawas from 1965 to 1974 and I ride few of them regularly. While tuned correctly, they are capable for 3.5L/100km at constant 90 kph. Newer 350cc Jawas like 634 or 638 had more aggressive porting with more fun to ride but compared to T500 they are underdogs. Few weeks ago my friend and I tested the speed of our bikes on old military airport - my T500K achieved 175 kph (speedo reading) while his 638 went only 125 kph. The 638 is more ergonomic bike with better suspension though.

The Jawa twins must be quite easy to tune, I think most of them are single-carburettor?

A guy I knew ported an MZ 250 Supa 5 (mostly raising the exhaust port about 3mm and cleaning up the inlet & transfers), used a carb from a Suzi TS250 trail bike and used just one cylinder head gasket, and it made a BIG difference to acceleration and added 10mph to the top speed.
