some one has sent me $140 with no info .
it was sent by fairfx .
how do I find out who the sender is.
I never ask to be paid in dollars.
the only correspondence I have at the moment with USA guy and he want to pay by p/pal.
folks contacting me asking for prices after giving it to them..no reply for weeks or months .
and then out of the blue payments is made with information.
and I have to ask them what it is that they want?
do I have to explain every thing?
it like EBay you put a picture to show what it fitted to look like and they seem to think they are going to the lot.
even when you discribe the item in question. like this one in the ebay add.
they guy thought he was getting the tank as well.

In the old days, the 'done thing' for thieves was to eat a meal in a restaurant and sneak off without paying.
Maybe this guy has a guilty conscience and is paying for something that he doesn't actually want.
Other than that, wait a couple of weeks and someone will ask where the 'something' has got to.

they guy thought he was getting the tank as well.
John, three things come to mind:
1) language barrier of some kind.....e.g. English is a second or third language for the buyer
2) plain stupidity on the part of the buyer
3) the buyer is an out and out crook, trying to get something for nothing
To prevent future occurrences of this kind of thing, I suggest you insert the following sentence
in ALL of your auctions where you have a pic of the rack or rail actually in place on a bike or tank:
THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE RACK (or rail or handle...insert whichever is appropriate) ONLY !!!!
THE TANK (or bike) PICTURED IS NOT/NOT/NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION !!!
THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPLYING ANY/ALL FASTENERS/NUTS/BOLTS/WASHERS
FOR MOUNTING THIS AUCTION ITEM !!!
Show this warning in 18 point
red type and underline the "NOT/NOT/NOT" part.
That way, you will prevent future occurrences of such problems AND you'll also
have clear evidence of YOUR honesty should it come to a fight with Ebay and/or Paypal
being involved in a buyer-initiated dispute resolution.
I've always found that when I sold stuff on Ebay that it's best to make things totally clear
up front as to what the buyer will receive, especially with buyers NOT having English as their native tongue. That way there's no tears later.......for either party.

Doesn't matter what colour or point size you do the warnings, if they don't look they won't see it.
In my experience, the english speakers are the worst, as they tend to be the ones to try and take the pi$$.

like alan said they don't look at the wording ..they see picture and bid.
put in every thing and they still think etc .
they were probably gormless when they were young, mates taking the mick.
as they get older that does't change only bigger gormless twits.
