This weekend, my bike group held it's third classic Japanese bike show. It proved popular with the public and was busy through the whole day with many knowedgeable (and anorakish) comments being passed by a wide range of self-styled experts - and the odd real one! Here are just a few pics:

the trusty Buffaloes or Waterbuses as we call them down here

We opened the show up to a few different types of machinery - it's a Honda

But .. check out the pipe work

The bike I'd never heard of - 1959 Lilac 125, shaft drive, V-twin (I'm guessing non-original colour!)

Best Suzuki

Best 0-125cc

Best Trail

Best Yamaha

Best Honda - just completed 69 Sandcast CB750

Best Kawasaki AND Best in Show!

A big surprise for the purists re the Best in Show but it was a clear winner from the public voting. Hope you enjoy seeing what we have down here.

Nice brace of J models  Thanks for sharing Mike - and unlike a Brit bike display, not an oil drip to be seen :D

Glad you enjoyed the pics. We had an awesome day and raised some good coin for the local rescue helicopter service (makes us feel better after polluting the world with our two strokes lol). Titan, thanks for the kind words. I do cherish my old Kawasaki - but have to admit I'm enjoying riding the GT 750 more these days. Craig380, yes the RE5 is a neat looking machine. The owner is rumoured to have a NOS motor sitting, all crated up in his garage - just in case 8)

Looks like a great display Mike and its good to see whats happening in your neck of the woods. Thanks for posting up the excellent photos.
The Marusho Lilacs are interesting motorcycles indeed, but that green isn't doing it any justice.

So true about the colour :!: However, we decided to cut the owner a bit of slack as he's 85 years old - we figure he's earned the right to be alittle deviant after all those years LOL

Some other Marushos I found on the net. Simple clean uncluttered lines make the bikes look very sleek.
