Whee did Pedro go ?

Post by Zunspec4 »

Forgive me if I have missed some fearsome squabble, but what happened to Pedro. Not on members list and all posts seemingly evaporated into the aether.

Well - as I understand it, he was suspended as a member of this board. Despite a wealth of knowledge which would benefit many members regardless of their own level of experience, his style and lack of consideration for others proved to be an insurmountable obstacle. Its a pity. 8)

I know there was a bit of a squabble around May / June this year, but I thought it all got sorted out between the parties involved?

He had taken a particular dislike to me and Tim, and wasn't slow to air his feelings in public, on both this and other forums. However, we seemed to have patched things up a while ago, and were getting on ok. I knew he hadn't posted for a while, but presumed that it was because the race season is a busy time for him. I didn't realise he was no longer a member, or that his posts had been deleted?
As OJB said....it is a shame he couldn't be a little more tolerant of those who knew less than him, (which is just about all of us), because his level of knowledge was a valuable asset to the forum.

Pete was a touch intolerant at time, but I never had any problems with him.

I did not realize that he had been banished from the Kingdom. I assumed (wrongly) that he was too busy. That's a shame.

I spoke to Pete today and he is no longer a member of the forum. The why's and wherefore's are I guess irrelevant, and not really our business.

The reason I contacted him today was on the matter of a small purchase I wanted to make. One Seeley Suzuki frame kit will be winging it's way towards Wiltshire (UK) in the near future :D :D :D .

A long term project which will involve my spare GT500 engine as a basis for a road legal 2-stroke racer. The aim will be to get the engine poking out 60 bhp (ish) combined with light weight chassis (and a slimming diet for myself  ) . Should be fun.

That should make for an awesome combination and Pete is the go to guy for a performance motor.

Funds should be available on Wednesday. I plan to pick the frame up myself so I can really gain some advice/information on the best way ahead from Pete personally.

Now if I can only slim down and get into my old Lewis racing leathers  that would compliment the bikes potential. When I have the frame sitting on my build bench I'll start a (long running) thread on the build.

I was also not aware that Pete had left the board. Wonder what happened?

I do have some old PM's from him that are now from anonymous... very strange.

Zunspec - when you go to get your frame please tell Pete I said hello.

Is this his shop?

I was never able to get any straight answers from him on the board anyway...

I see Pete was mentioned in the September CMM article on crankshaft rebuilding, and I see also that he is again on the board as well, so congrats and welcome back ! 8)

I have not even seen the article Ian, but I rebuilt a T500 crank for Steve Cooper who is doing the 500 project.

I was a bit pissed off at a bit in this months CMM, nice write up on Jim Lomas, but a bit in it says he makes Seeley Rep and Yamsel frames....... he does not!!!.... he buys them from me.

I shall sit quietly and be a good boy lol, and thanks
