Another take on the 2012 BC Ride......

by Allan and me. Here are a few of the pics that I took although I'm not as avid a shutterbug as Allan is. I seem to remember him saying that he took at least 350.....yes.....350 pics during the ride.....
and that doesn't include any vids that he took.

The bikes at a rest stop just east of Hope, BC on the Trans Canada Highway. At this point we are just about at the west/lower end of the famous Fraser Canyon and earlier we passed the area of the Fraser River known as Hell's Gate.
Uncle H2 and his Bandit on the ferry to go over to Vancouver Island. The "Michelin Man" on the left of the pic is another guy riding over to the Island but a total stranger to both Allan and me.

Our campsite in the village of Ucluelet, BC on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We've camped here 3 years running and it's not a bad campground, all things considered.
Allan on the beach in the SUNSHINE !!! He has finally gotten to see the west coast of the Island WITHOUT being totally fogged in or rained on. He doesn't LOOK pleased......but he really IS !!!

Now we're back on the mainland and almost at the end of the Duffey Lake portion of BC Highway 99
and this is the Seton Lake rest stop. Seton Lake is a part of a series of lakes and dams belonging to BC Hydro and used for power generation and recreation. It's a beautiful area and little used, even in summer.
We leapfrog a couple of hundred miles to stop at the spot where the last spike was driven in Canada's first transcontinental railway in 1885 at Cragellachie, BC. This is the cairn that was built to commemorate this fantastic achievement.
Again we leapfrog another couple of hundred miles and a whole day to a rest stop outside Banff, Alberta where Allan FINALLY has cell phone service again after going "phoneless" for the previous 7 days. At this point we're about 90 minutes away from my home in Calgary with a nice soft bed, a hot shower with soft water AND some cold beers for Uncle and cold pops for Allan. Hallelujah !!!
So ends Allan's 4th ride into the wilds of BC. No hiccups this year.....just fabulous weather and the usual fantastic BC scenery.

just a question .. how did the 2 different yr Bandits compare with 1 fuel injected and the other carbs .
