Scorch - is it not possible to make filling in some 'Location' info mandatory ? We seem to now have sooooo many folks on here now with no location info at all - and I'm not asking for street address or even town/city. It often would be really useful to at least know the country a board member is in when a question gets asked, so as to be able to offer a relevant answer, plus it might encourage additional replies if people know the question is being asked by someone in their own geographic area.

Yes that would be great for the lazy people who care not to take the time and disclose this valuable info.

We don't want to force this on members but we do expect people would use all the available features put into the site for their own benefit.
For example, not putting your location in your profile and then asking questions related to a particular part or service.
Right away no one knows where you are located and that same part or service may be in the next town or that member may only live a few miles from you, and can easily help you out.
Please members, fill in the location on your profiles, the very things you are looking for may be closer than you realize.

I concur.

It seems we may regrettably have to FORCE this on members. Since this post started we had some recently joined members who were asked nicely about adding their location into their profile and yet they have ignored the request.

Really now, if you don't have your location listed, how are other members best able to point you in the right direction to a place thats close to your location for solving a problem or any service related issues.
