For those of you who can drive at this level of finesse, notice the mirrors are protruding about a foot on each side of the body. In such a narrow space the mirrors outer edges are your frontal clearance judgement points, and they also allow you to carefully monitor the body clearance down the sides.
He was lucky the road was perpendicular to the walls, he only needed a small dip or bump or one side of the roads surface to tilt the body over slightly and the roof edge on that side would have rubbed the rock face.
