Have used uHaul bike trailers quite a bit. But I'm looking to haul a bike in the middle of winter without getting snow & road salt all over the bike.
Anyone use enclosed an uHaul trailer for bikes? Any suggestions or tips?

Not me. I own a Ford Explorer and U-Haul won't rent to me.
And get this. They WILL rent to a Mercury Mountaineer which is the exact same vehicle.

Seems pretty bizarre.
Checked their website & they don't rent a trailer for an '06 Explorer. But a Ford Escape & Mustang is ok.

Re: tips for using enclosed uHaul trailers
Did I mention they suck? Before the Explorer boycott went into effect I did rent from them. Drove from Tulsa to ST.Louis to pick up the bike that is now RedZone. Then drove back. No issues. But then someone flipped an Explorer towing a U-Haul -- causing a fatality I believe--and a law suit was filed against U-Haul. That's when we were dropped. There is also a Jeep model they won't rent to, but I can't remember if it's the Cherokee or the Renegade.
Right now I wouldn't rent so much as a wheel chock from them. They can kiss my a$$ and bark at the hole. My Explorer is a 2000. I don't think the year matters any to them.
Fortunate for me, my wife works with a girl who's husband has a trailer that I can borrow any time I want. Used it to go to Wichita to buy a barn find 77 GT750. There and back - no issues.
So don't look for any kind words from me about U-Haul. Every time I pass one of their stations, I flip them off.

I realize I ranted instead of answering your question. Most all I have been in have permanently attached rings to the walls. You can use these rings and some tie downs to hold the bike upright. Should be no problem.
Before you really tell them what you are driving, tell-em it's an Explorer - just so you can be rejected for a while. Tell them to " get over it man. That was years and years ago."!!!
