Suzuki Snowmobiles

Post by Madbuffalo »

Hi all, Anyone know of any parts sources, OEM or aftermarket, for Suzuki Snowmobiles? That white fluffy stuff is almost here in Detroit so I've been switching gears a bit from the GT to get the winter toys ready. It amazes me how little information there is online about Suzuki snowmobiles compared to the GT's. As you guys know most parts for the GT's are still readily available but anything for the old Nomad seems to be nearly impossible to find. Suzuki only made snowmobiles for a few years so Suzuki does not supply ANY parts anymore, as far as the shops tell me.

Here's a picture of the old '75 Nomad. It's been in the family since new and hasn't had a single thing done to the engine in all that time which really speaks for Suzuki's quality. With the narrow ski's it usually tips over at least once every ride and it gets stuck if the snow's more than a couple inches deep but that's all part of the fun in my opinion. A couple years ago I handed the key over to my little sister but I've still been maintaining it for her and would really like some good tips for parts/forums if anyone's got any.

Thanks guys,
Josh

Hey Josh , Remember the one we talked about by Walkervill , I think its still there the last time I was up there, He is an old friend from back in the day when Beer was cheep and we did some crazz stuff, anyway I think He said $50.00 and haul it away maybe by now we could just haul it---- the motor would still pull over but the rest was in bad shape.

Hope all is well over yuor way.

Hey Red, Forgot about that one! If you could check with him and the windshield's still good I'll take it. That's the main thing I need right now is a windshield. Maybe I can stop by sometime in the next few weekends and the two of us could pick it up? We'll have to grab something to eat on the way too. :)

Due to the lack of responses I'm led to believe there may be no hope for the old Nomad. :( I checked with Dennis Kirk who just sells belts for it and tried to check with Paul Miller but got a failed email notice with (vintagesuzuki@attbi.com). Does anybody have a working email address for Paul? Still holding out hope for a parts supplier. Somebody somewhere has to have an inventory....?

hey josh its a long shot but you could try thesse guys at duaty moto.

Thanks, Suzukidave. That phone number is actually 912-576-3101. That 2300 number is no longer valid.
But yes, we can help you guys with your vintage parts needs. We created a powersports retailer community where shops that have unsold parts inventory (usually 12 month no-sale inventory) may provide us with a file of all that inventory to list on our site for the consumption by other DustyMoto account holding bike shops.

You don't have to be franchised for any OEMs to paricipate and have access to our huge virtual stockroom. Since many of our accounts are OEM dealers for decades, they are an excellent source for some of those hard to find gems you guys are into. But who has time to call every bike shop on the country just so you can get that original grey control cable and not the superceded black one, etc?

That's where we excel. We are happy to key in part numbers over the phone if you like and direct you to a local DustyMoto account holder. If you have shop of your own and have a state resale tax ID and number, we can set you up an account of your own, which is free. Pricing is set at today's OEM dealer cost plus nothing.

There is zero markup of any kind with DustyMoto, but we only do business with bike shops, so let your local guy know that we're here and they're welcome in. Thanks!

I called DustyMoto to inquire and they need a part number to check their database, which I don't have, and my local shop can't get. So great idea Mark but without a part number DustyMoto can't help. If I could find an old parts manual on ebay (fingers crossed) would that have numbers?

stroknsmokngt, Thanks but that sled's a little different than mine, especially the windshield.

As an update I've been working hard to find some information on Suzuki snowmobiles and finally feel like I'm getting somewhere. On the unlikely chance anyone else actually has one of these here's what I found. As far as forums go Vintagesled.com and Vintagesledders.com can be very helpful tools. The expert on both is definately Zuk. He's right here in Michigan and knows more than most on the topic and is sending me a couple of his spare manuals to get me on track (still looking for a parts manual as of now). Turns out Suzuki only made Nomads through '74, so my '75 is actually a '74 disguised by the dealership. There aren't any known parts suppliers, just Ebay and parts snowmobiles, which was a little despairing but the good news is they aren't worth anything so parts are cheap. If anyone's got any questions about their sled I'm happy to help and will gladly pass along Zuk's info if I don't know.

Josh
