Tragic news today regarding Marco.....so very sad.
He was very talented and exciting to watch.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Very sad day. A great rider who was starting to challenge the top boys for a win. Also injected some attitude into the bland corporate world of MotoGP. RIP Marco

I felt I had lost a family member today - so, so sad.
He was the brightest star in the paddock, a wonderful character and a uniquely determined style.
Met a few of the paddock types at Aragon this year, he was much more popular in the paddock than the press would have us believe.
Rest easy, Sideshow Bob.

Very tragic...
He was my favourite rider and was certain to shine on the big 1,000cc bikes next season. He also seemed to have more personality than the other guys on the motoGP podium which was refreshing. MotoGP won’t be the same without him

I watched the video feed and saw the stills and it was a horrific, freakish accident that no one could have avoided. There was nothing that CE or VR could have done to avoid hitting him and there was little or nothing that Marco could have done to alter the outcome either.
Remember Wayne Gardner hitting Franco Uncini years ago and his helmet was also spat off with the force of the impact. Franco was lucky, Marco was not. Sickening to see and heart wrenching. It's hard to imagine the forces involved from the impact of two bikes and riders hitting at the same time. What's harder to imagine is how those circumstances came to be the way they were.
We get used to seeing massive crashes where racers get up and shake off broken bones. We start to believe they are invincible as they are talented. What a painful wake up call to our humanity and fragility.
Super Sic was a colorful character and will be missed.
