OK its not a 2 stroke

Post by johnakay »

I couldn't let this go.
just won this on EBay. and its only 10 miles from me.
Yamaha yzf600 thundercat cat.
I had one of these 8 years ago brilliant bike.
and it ran faultless for 4.5 years.
hopefully I'll be able to go further on this bike than my current one.
all my weight will be off my bum on this one.
cheap as chips $1,910

this is what the owner said....
I am selling my Yamaha YZF 600 Thundercat.

I have owned the bike for approximately 2.5 years and it has been an excellent first bike. It has started first time every time and is very reliable. The bike is in excellent condition for its age, and has only covered 11000 miles, see photos.

I use the bike for pleasure, its not used as a commuting vehicle, hence the low mileage.

There are no known faults with the bike and I am only selling due to purchasing a new motorbike.

The bike passed its recent MOT without any problems. It has two recent tyres, front tyre covering approximately 100 miles and back tyre approximately 300 miles.
I have really enjoyed owning this bike and will be sad to see it go. this is an excellent bike, you will not be disappointed!

Looks good John! It should be perfect for your everyday ride. Then you can focus on getting a Suzuki 2 stroke for those perfect vintage days!

Enjoy!

She looks very nice, John.

Isn't it funny how a 100bhp, 150+mph machine is now described as a "first bike" .... in the late 70s / early 80s, you'd have been regarded as a god if you rode a machine capable of that sort of performance :wth: :D

the bike is in better condition than I expected.
the main body work is in very good nick.
the engine sound very nice and crisp. no hesitation on blip-ping the throttle, gear box is good.
the bad point is it just need tidying up around the foot peg area, nothing that a rattle can can't sort
I'll have up in ship shape in no time but during the winter months.
now is the time to sell my other bike  and crack on with my work rails etc.
